Diesel
Name: Diesel
Age: Approx 1-1.5 years
Weight: 80lbs
Spayed/neutered: Yes
Up to date on age appropriate vaccinations: Yes
Kennel trained: Diesel struggles with being in a kennel, he spent quite a bit of time in them while waiting for a foster home, we don’t blame the poor guy. In the past few weeks he has made huge progress! He goes in for treats, and sleeps through the night but he can be vocal. A Kong with some treats or peanut butter and this big guy calms down and settles himself.
House trained: Diesel is new to being in a house so he has the odd accident but he is learning to ring a bell at the door to let us know he needs out. Repetitive trips outside will help Diesel thrive in learning how to be an inside dog.
Best breed guess: Bully Mix
Being fostered in: Regina
Adoption fee: $350
Good with dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Diesel has experience with farm cats, he chases them when they run but once the cat squares up he will leave them alone. We recommend that he goes to a home without cats or dog savy cats.
Good with kids: Yes, Diesel understands that he needs to be gentle with kids, but sometimes he forgets his size and gets excited.
Sup Everyone! My name is Diesel and I’m looking for a permanent place to crash at! Man I’m a pretty easy sell just by my looks but let me tell you more about me. For starters, I’m a looker 😎, my brindle coat and soft gentle eyes reel in all the ladies! I also like to keep it lean - I love going for runs - hopefully my new roommate is into the gym because I’m looking for an exercise buddy, hopefully they can keep up to me.
Im a big goofball, the ladies love it! I love playing at the dog park, I’m super laid back and have a great demeanour with the other dogs, big or small - I try to be friends with everyone! I love playing tag, wrestling and stealing balls from other dogs. At home, I just like to sit on people laps or flop down on top of them, then I grab a toy and play tug of war with my foster sister!
You’ll be impressed to learn that on top of my good looks, charm and humour - I’m actually a pretty smart guy. I know sit, lay down (although sometimes I act like I don’t know this), roll over, shake a paw, wait, stay and come. I put a lot of effort into practicing these tricks because I just want to be the best.
Now you’ve heard about how amazing I am… kinda like superman! But just like superman and kryptonite, I have one thing that I need some extra patience with and that is kennel training. Listen, I’ve been doing pretty good with it all, I work hard at it, I mean I’d much rather be playing or snoozing on the couch but my foster mom says, “This is important Diesel” 🙄 Ugh what a buzzkill. So every day we practice coming in and out of the kennel calmly, staying in and coming out when with the proper commands , but most importantly - relaxing in the kennel while my foster parents go to work. Man it’s like I’m in timeout, so I cry a bit… I’m not a totally tuff guy, I do have feelings! But mom keeps telling me that they’ll always come home and take me out.. now that I’ve seen this is what happens, I’m feeling much more comfortable but my future roommates need to know that I need their help to really perfect this! I’ll get there I just know it!
Anyways, that’s me in a nut shell! I know that there’s a family out there for me, they just have to find me. So let’s get crazy and share the heck out of my profile! 😎 Oh, I do have one request.. whoever adopts me.. I like to keep a lot of fresh hot dogs in the house. Just for snacks and training, gotta keep my protein intake high. 💪🏻 Peace out People!!
