Diesel has been in the rescue waiting for his home for 4 months. Prior to that, he grew up in a kennel environment and has patiently waited for his people to find him. Surely there is a family looking for a handsome, friendly, smart boy like him!
Despite the long wait for his family, Diesel remains the sweetest boy. He loves everyone he meets and gets along with dogs of all sizes. We recommend that Diesel goes to a home without cats or a dog savvy boss cat that won't be intimidated by his size. He will chase if they run but only wants to play! He is very smart and learns new tricks and routines with ease. He is very food motivated and loves his toys and bones.
Diesel knows sit, lay down, roll over, shake a paw, high 5, leave it, wait, stay and come. He loves to train and is so clever. His foster parents are so impressed with how quickly he learns and adapts to new environments/boundaries. He would love to snuggle up with you on the couch (or anywhere) but if your house is a 'no dogs on the couch' kind of place, he respects that too and is happy on his dog bed.
He loves the little humans in his current foster home. He is sweet and gentle and loves to play chase with them. He also loves that they sometimes leave snacks accessible to him but we're working on that (both the little humans and Diesel are working on that one 🤣). Diesel would thrive in a family with children and another dog to play with!
*Diesel has made huge progress with his kennel training while in foster care. He goes in happily and sleeps quietly all night. He sometimes still has some separation anxiety in his kennel during the day (left over from living in a kennel environment and not knowing when the humans would come back to love him again..) but he is making huge progress as he learns the routine and that we will always be back for him. He appreciates having a bone or Kong toy in there with him to help occupy himself until you're home again.
He is such a good boy!! He just needs a family to give him a chance. ♡
