Sammy, is a handsome, gentle and quiet boy. With each day he is becoming more comfortable as he settles into being an inside dog. His past is a bit unknown, but he is learning to trust humans in the safety and security of a warm and loving foster home. Despite some progress Sammy continues to be quite nervous around new people and will require a family that is patient and willing to provide him the time to trust and settle in on his own time. Sammy sleeps in his kennel throughout the night and uses his kennel willingly as his safe space throughout the day. He is quite nervous when walking through doorways and of a leash. Therefore, it will take some time before his family is able to take him for walks. His current foster home is teaching Sammy basic commands, but his adoptive family will need to continue this training to help him reach his full potential as a family pet. Sammy’s ideal future family will be committed to providing Sammy with not only companionship but the time to learn and rebuild his confidence.
