Unfortunately, Sammy’s adoption didn’t work out and he is back with his foster family. His past is a bit unknown, but he’s learning to trust on his own time. In his current foster home he enjoys following the kids around the house, finding different places to sleep, being outside for lengthy periods of time and roaming the yard. Despite some progress he is quite nervous of a leash, he has started walking around the house coaxed by lots of treats. But, it will take some time before his family is able to take him for walks.

His current foster home is teaching Sammy basic commands, but his adoptive family will need to continue this training to help him reach his full potential as a family pet. Sammy’s ideal future family will be committed to providing Sammy with not only companionship but the time to learn and build his confidence. Sammy enjoys a nice cuddle session on the couch but he still does require exercise. Due to the fact that Sammy is not quite willing to walk on a leash his ideal home would have a large backyard or acreage/farm so that Sammy can explore and get his energy out!
