Pepper is a handsome 10-month-old collie mix with the softest eyes and sweetest soul. He can be a little shy at first, but underneath that nervous exterior is a gentle, affectionate dog who really wants to trust his people. Since arriving in foster care, Pepper has already started to show his loving side—he enjoys pets, happily takes treats, and is beginning to settle into home life.

Pepper is a sensitive guy who is still learning that the world is a safe place. New environments and sudden movements can make him nervous, and his first instinct is to retreat rather than confront. With a bit of patience and reassurance, he warms up quickly and will lean in for affection once he feels safe.
He is food-motivated, takes treats gently, and enjoys human connection. Pepper does startle easily but is already improving with consistency and would benefit from continued confidence-building and calm structure.
Pepper’s kennel is his safe space, and he settles well in it, though he may whine when left alone as he continues to adjust. He is house trained and doing well with routine.
Pepper is currently working on his basic training, including sit and lay down, and is eager to learn. He is already a star when it comes to recall and loves engaging with his people.
